Getting A D from MATH 285 Linear Algebra Class as an Econ Major Transfer student.

Need help from you guys!!
I got a 68 percent from my Math 285 Linear Algebra class and got a D from it:(
It says that if I got a grade lower than C then it is dangerous for me that my admission from UCD may be cancelled. However I did get 2 As from my BUSA8 and BUSC1-B classes. Even though Math 285 is not my major class but I am still very worried about it. So what should I do? I know I need to contact them but I seek help to reduce the chance of my admission being cancelled by UCD. I am really worried now:(

There’s no running away from this. You must contact them immediately. The more you wait, the worst it’ll be. If you want a solution, only your admission counselor can provide it.

You will most likely get rescind. Be ready for that.

Contact them right away1 The only people that have seen your full transcript and that know the actual policy work in Davis admissions. Everyone else here is just guessing. There is little you can do to change your chances of being rescinded. The only caveat to that is if they ask you to write a letter of explanation. There are a few things you should do and some you should avoid, so if they ask for a letter come back and you can get more advice on what to say.

Here is what Davis wrote in their alumni magazine a few years ago

Best of luck to you; let us know how it turns out.

huehuehue
Thank god:/ btw I am really sick of my professor who wont round that 68.5 to a C- even though he said he would try and help me:/. Thank you guys for the help tho:)

You’re probably screwed, I think most transfer conditions want no less than a C in any courses attempted. And lol at you hating on your prof, how do you not study your ass off for a course knowing to do poorly may set your college progress back a year?

Aight ty bro I learned this lesson:/.
to be fair he is the hardest professor in my cc, and he writes his own exams and finals unlike other 285 professors.
W/e I hope all of these guys who have same situations get a good result, and I wont **** talk to make people feel worse:D

So why are you taking linear algebra as an Econ major? Seems like a pointless risk to me…

I did the stupid mistake of hiding my D in differential equations, when UCLA found out my admission got recinded immediately. had I informed them earlier things would have been more civil. Note: the people from admission take it very personally when you lie to them… I had to go through a 1 month appeal process, through a miracle they reversed their decision on appeal on the condition that I retake the class. After talking to many people I learned that admission rarely changes their minds about appeal (around 5 percent). So I really dodged the bullet. Trust me that drama is not worth it, let them know yesterday.
