Getting a D senior year...

Hey Everyone,

So, its my last semester of my senior year and have been accepted to UCR. My grades have been slipping a little and i would have to say that i have a bad case of senioritis. I currently have a D in one of my classes. Do you think that UCR will take back my admission? Has this happened to anyone? I mean, i know a D isnt good, but come on, im still gonna have atleast a 3.0 GPA. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all,

u currently have a d… so it means that you have the rest of the semester to bring it back up to a C.

if it was a semester D, phone them in ASAP

yea…i definately have the time to bring the grade up. I mean, its a D+ as of now. like 68.9%. But, hypothetically, if it stays at a D…

phone them in? as in call admissions and let them know and see what they say about it?

pay off your teacher

I would give you about a 75% of being rescinded if you get a D in the class. UCR does not take students earning D’s during senior year lightly. You would need to contact them with a good reason right away if you had any chance of not being rescinded.

Cali trumpet - Ok, i appreciate that info very much.

I have currently 2 D’s in my semester
report card (for last semester of senior year)

I called UCR and they said as long as it
wasnt an A-G course its fine.

lol so i can slack off in my calc bc class b/c its my 4th year of math? i dont feel like doing calculus much these days…

same hear I got an F in Pre Cal. But I was smart and finish all my A-G by Junior year really I just have to take English but I need to get 40 elective credits so I took some science class to beef up my brain

Who do I email if I have a d in one of my classes?

admit@ucr.edu

source: my.ucr.edu

"If you have received a D or F grade, you must notify your admission counselor at admit@ucr.edu. "

i know people last year that got rescinded from santa cruz and irvine for getting Ds
one was in stats and the other in calc

Yea, just call an advisor. Sometimes they’ll work with you even it’s an A-G course. You might have to go to summer school tho. It happened to me. Got a D in English haha and went to summer school at community college.

I just got an e-mail back that says my admission would most likely be in jeopardy and that I have to raise my grades to a C. =, dunno if that’s possible for my AP Stats class

Have a meeting with your professor about it. See if you can do some individual sessions with them, extra credit, etc.

Maybe if you really show your professor that you’re doing your best and busting your ass that you may be able to bring it up.

do you know how to contact UCSC for failing classes? email addresses and phone numbers?

I asked the UCR admission the same question on facebook, and they said, “It might. Depends on your major and lots of other things. You need to send an email to admit@ucr.edu explaining the situation.”
