Getting a D would mean rescind?

I got accepted to UCI, and they sent me contions for admission.
It only says to maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.80, receive C or better for English,
complete all courses exactly as listed as "in progress" on my application,
with 60 semester units.

I qualify everything above, but I got a D in one of my major pre-req.
The paper does not say anything about getting a D would mean
cancellation of my admission, though.
They ask me to 'complete' all Spring courses as listed on
my application, but do they consider D as complete??

Failing the class means you didn’t complete it.

Call the Office of Admissions. Same thing happened to me, and since my overall GPA was high enough, they said it was okay if I didn’t complete the class by this spring.

^ yawn:
did they want you to take it during the summer then?

D might not be failing. My counselor told me that I’ll still get credit for a class I got a D in. But you might need a C or better to take the next level.

that D might have gotten you some credit at your cc, but for credit to be transferable to a UC you must receive a grade > C-

I go to a UC

And it’s > C-, BTW. (;

any updates? cuz i got a D too… im so worried

How are so many people accepted into good UC schools and then end up with Ds and Fs before transferring? Explain.

Hijinx-My guess is that they probably saved their most difficult GE classes for last (math, science, foreign language, etc). My grades went down in spring because I was a mess waiting for admission decisions, but by “went down” I mean that I got a couple Bs instead of As. I would be so mad at myself if I got a D, but it happens.

The condition of admission should state whether Ds and Fs are to be reported. Frankly, I think they might affect your decision process, as my condition of admission at cal states clearly that any D’s and F’s must be reported immediately. So your best bet is call and get reliable information and report it to the forum; not the other way around.

Since it’s a pre-req for your major, and with a D the credit doesn’t transfer, I think you’ve got a serious problem. You need to contact UCI admissions to see what options they will offer you.
