Getting a Full-Ride?

I was just curious as to what kind of stats you would need to have to get a full scholarship to Temple, generally. That's assuming it is even possible, because I don't know if they even offer full-rides. If they do, though, what would be the typical criteria?

Probably about a 3.9 and a 2200 on the SATs, although I'm not positive.

Ok, thanks. I have a 4.02 (weighted) and a 2160, so I may consider going to Temple if I can get a full or near-full scholarship.

I'd say you have a very good shot at getting $10,000 minimum. Where are you from?

Philly. I'm guessing that is a good thing?

The city itself? There are scholarship awards you might be eligible for, depending on your school.

Yea, I live in Northeast Philly and go to Central High School (maybe you've heard of it?)

Well yeah, Central is the best pure public school in Philly lol

Ok good, so you are familiar with it. Darn Masterman!

Do you live in Philly too?

I went to Lower Merion.

Oh, cool. Are you currently in college? If so, where?

I'm a sophomore at Temple.

Oooooh, lol, now it all makes sense. What were your stats when you applied, and how much did you end up having to pay?

My stats were not close to as impressive as yours, and I'm paying full tuition, because I didn't need financial aid.

Oh, I see. How common would you say it is to find students who could get into more selective colleges, but choose to attend Temple? Do they generally group together, or are they integrated into the school with all of the other kids? I mean, they are obviously not outcasts, but do they fit in completely?

They definitely dont act pretentious and self segregate. A kid who graduated from my HS last year was a Harvard-worthy applicant, but wanted to go to Temple. He loves it here. My friend from Texas got into the University of Texas and a bunch of other great schools, but chose to come here (although he's probably transferring to Georgetown). I personally transferred to Temple from BU, and I definitely don't act better than anyone (publicly, anyway lol).

Ok, that's good to hear. I'm not sure what your major is, but do you know anything about the Fox school and the business program? Such as: difficulty of coursework, internship opportunities, career services, number/level of companies that recruit Temple students?

The bottom line is that Fox is one of the most underrated business schools in the country, and that if you do well, you can get a job anywhere including Wall Street if that's of any interest.

Yea, being in Philadelphia, I always hear Temple being praised. My uncle went there for law and he is very successful, but I've never really known anyone that graduated from Fox. Thanks for the info, though. Are you a business major?

My father is a very successful Fox grad. I'm a sports management major, business minor.
