I'm getting a gift for my teachers for writing my rec, what should I get besides chocolate?

I just wrote personal thank you notes to each of them.

My son wrote a personal note (ok, he typed it. His handwriting is atrocious) and gave $10 Amazon gift certificates to his teachers and counselor when he was accepted. We are visiting the school in April and he will get them mugs or hats from the store. I know that his counselor really went to bat for him, and I wrote her a thank-you email.

an apple covered in pure gold...

As a teacher who writes many recommendations, I can tell you that I appreciate a note of thanks. If you feel the need to give more and your teacher has really gone above and beyond for you, a gift card to Starbucks or Barnes and Noble is very nice (but I don't think most teachers expect that).

Starbucks gift cards are always a good bet.

did you guys give the thank you notes after your first acceptance or when you've heard from all your colleges?

D gave Bookstore gift certificates (we live in Oregon, so we did Powell's) for college recs and Starbucks for scholarship recs. Her Principal, Secretaries, Counselor and main teacher really went to bat for her when she didn't read the minor details as well as she should have for a scholarship. They all got a Starbucks gift certificates.

Screw plain ol' apples. Get them an Apple computer!

No, I think a mug/college apparel with a final thank-you note would suffice. Don't forget to invite them to your grad party!

We gave mugs from the school filled with chocolate to the GC and teachers who gave recommendations. We also gave a pendant from the college to the GC because he has a collection of college pendants in his office.

I made him a card

my social studies teacher

I got mine a pepsi haha. But it's cool because she really really loves the stuff.
