Ok so my EFC this year was 50 which gave me the max fin aid, plus im exempt from tuition because of my dads military service. So realistically I don't really need to get a job, because I'll have money to pay for rent, food, and fun. I'm still thinking about getting a job just so I don't look like a bum to my parents and my friends, but will it affect my efc considering I make around 2-4k this year.

For a dependent student, the first $6000 of student income is protected income and will not affect your EFC.

Oh thanks that’s great to know

You might not “need” a job but you might be glad you “had” jobs after you graduate. Never a bad idea to have some work experience and it never hurts to have coin in your pocket that you earned on your own.
