Hey guys, so i pretty much wasted my whole first semester... I don't mean academically but socially. I commute so it's hard for me to meet people and the clubs my school offers (Pace) suck, so i decided that maybe getting a job in campus for the summer might help.

Anyone have any suggestions? Would i really meet people from my school there or should i just wait to meet people in the fall...

Making friends at work is a great idea even if you don’t decide to work on campus. I’d recommend getting a summer job somewhere. That way you’ll be exposed to new friendships and earn a little cash on the side.

It’s hard finding friends when you’re a commuter. I have hardly any school friends for that reason but I have friends at work so it evens out.

Oh ok great! I’ll prolly work in campus for a while until i find something better. I would guess that working in campus would make it easier since it’s people from your school (you’ll see them again sooner or later)…

A campus job could be a good idea to meet people, but if you could dorm for the next semester it would be 100x better for meeting people if that is at all possible for you.

You go to Pace. I think I’m going there! I know this doesn’t help you, but can you tell me what kind of clubs they have and why you think ithey’re lame.

Hey, to be honest i don’t really know if they’re lame since i haven’t really joined one… However, most of the clubs are academic and i’d like it if there were film clubs, or music clubs; more of my interests. Most of the clubs here are religious clubs (muslim, jewish) and academic (computers club, marketing club, economics, etc). There’s one that i’m joining thats called “sabor latino” (which is obviously related to latin people (i’m latin)) but that’s pretty much it…

I don’t know if it’s worth it joining clubs that aren’t of my interests…

hmmm…I guess you go to NYC campus, from what I hear about the Pville, is that there is always something going on on campus and communter students feel like they’re not missing out on anything. Am I right, you go to NYC campus?
