<p>I am considering getting a part-time job while studying at uiuc. But I live almost 2 hours away from Champaign... will my employer likely give me time off when I go home during the long Christmas Break?</p>
<p>Yes. They have high enough turn-over as is, so they want to keep employees for 2-3 years if they are good workers.</p>
<p>Especially around campus, employers know that most of their student workers go home over the break. Since much of the campus goes with them, they typically scale back the number of workers per shift anyway, as well as make sure they hire enough people who will make a commitment to staying over the breaks.</p>
