I was accepted to CSU Sacramento and I want to major in Marketing. My problem is my gpa and the budget cuts in California. I will be transferring with a 2.46 overall gpa. We have had very deep cuts to our education budget and the business program is under impact status and it is almost impossible to get accepted into upper-division courses. I heard today that some people with 3.3 overall were getting turned away.

I wanted to know if I had a chance of getting in through an appeals process because of my health. I had brain surgery a few years ago because I had a full year of 5 seizures a day. The damage it caused has made it really hard to obtain a B average because my memory has been shot. I didn't do so great in Financial or Managerial Accounting or Macroeconomics, I got a C in each course. I have taken Intro to Business and will be getting an A. Do you think they would make an exception on the basis of the fact I have gone through my college career with part of my brain gone and I can't afford to go anywhere else?

I feel like I've been punched in the stomach 100 times since I've almost completely wasted 2 1/2 years in classes to prepare me for a major I won't be accepted into.
