Getting accepted to the Citadel out of state?

I know they are very selective for out of state applicants as they want mostly SC residents. Does anyone have any idea if I will have trouble being accepted from NC?

-GPA: 3.3 UW ~4.0 W

-30 ACT

-Not sure of New SAT results yet - feel like it will be very good. 1400+

-Varsity XC/Track all years

-National Honors Society

I have taken AP classes every year and will be taking AP Calc senior year along with AP Comp Sci and GoPo. I think I want to major in computer hardware engineering if that matters.

Also - would it be worth trying to apply to West Point? Do I have a realistic chance?

I believe that there is a subforum at this website dedicated to service academies. I am sure that you will receive responses and opinions here. For a large online community focused on exchanging information specifically about service academies, military colleges, ROTC, etc - there is (at least one) dedicated website that I know of; “serviceacademyforums” - add the dot and the com and there you have it.

Have you considered VMI? Also, for the purpose of state residency determination, if I recall correctly, The Citadel might have some sort of reciprocity agreement with NC.
