Getting an A in a class

I have an AP class where I’ve been getting A’s every quarter but now report cards are coming up for the 3rd quarter and I have a very high B. I’ve been trying to talk to my teacher but she’s been stressed and told me to talk to her tomorrow. I even emailed her. I’m .03 away from an A and I don’t know what to say.

I know what to say. You should get the grade that you earned. I don’t see what the issue is here. You don’t have an A so you’ll get an A- or a B+. What in the world would you need to talk to the teacher about. I hear that B’s are not terminal though. You’ll survive. Also it would probably be better in the long run for you to avoid being characterized by teachers as a grade grubber. This is grade grubbing by the way. You are trying to convince a teacher to assign a grade to you that you did not earn. Shame!

but there’s still more grades she has to put in and I’m just trying to see if that can help me …

@amnaaxo It’s fine for her to give you advice, but ultimately you have to put in the effort, and she isn’t obligated to give you an A if you didn’t deserve an A.

Also, if quarter grades don’t show up on your transcript or influence GPA (which is often the case), then you shouldn’t worry about anything - just finish strong and you should get an A for the semester/year.

What is it that you want to talk to her about? What would you do differently after talking to her?

So you get a B. Time to commit hara-kiri.

Or maybe the 99.9% of students who’ve gotten a B at some point in their lives aren’t all miserable failures, and you needn’t worry either.
