Getting an F first quarter

when grades had first come out, i saw this site for information: [Back On Track at UCSD](http://backontrack.ucsd.edu/)

then a few days later they emailed me saying i had a notification at vac.ucsd.edu
so go there, login, click the link in that says Academic Notice
youll have a message there regarding it

it should be there by now, because i think i remember reading something saying they review grades by the 22nd

chowsx: I got the email to check the Back on Track website, but in that email they said there would be a later email for me to check vac.ucsd.edu… I just checked it now and I don’t have the Academic Notice posted yet… do you think all freshman who land in “subject to disqualification” just get the academic probation? or did they review case by case whether you get an exception or not?
Thanks!

hmm i thought i had read somewhere that they would review grade and have emails regarding this by the 22nd…
idk/:
are you sure you got subject to disqualification?

hm i presume they would. since they look at your past academic history to decide whether you deserve an exception. like if your grades were on a downhill trend, then they might decide to disqualify for example.

yeah, i think they look at each case to decide, but maybe for freshman they just give all subject to disqualify freshman an exception.

try emailing your college’s…academic advisor?

I think if you get under a 2.0 again next quarter you may be disqualified. That’s what happened to a freshman I knew last year.

^^you need to do better than 2.0 so it averages to 2.0.

^ that’s right, your cumulative gpa needs to be a 2.0, not your minimum gpa next quarter must be a 2.0. Just work harder next quarter, if you get any Ds, drop the class.
