If I applied as an english major and I get an F in a biology course, aside from lowering my GPA, will that kill my chances of geting in?

I took a calc this semester and dropped it and I also took two core science classes but stopped attending biology because I was going to retake it but it looks like I can't. So I guess I'm stuck with an F?

I know we post grades in January, but not for Spring so it won’t matter if I get straight A’s next semester- all they’ll see is the F I got this semester? Will having a bad semester ruin it for me?

An “F” in any class will kill your GPA, thus lowering your chances. And wouldn’t Biology fall under the IGETC completion? In other words, will you be able to complete it by the end of spring?

Yes because I took chem 3a and bio 1. But I’ve got a D in Chem 1D and F in Bio 2…I’m not a bio major anymore so would I still be doomed? I’m taking all writing/speech/language next semester and I’m sure to pull my grades back up- it’s just I don’t know if having a bad semester the spell the end of me.

@ilikegirl whats your GPA and where did you apply? Keep in mind the UC’s had record number applicants last fall. That may or may not increase this year. I’m pretty sure your doomed. They won’t want to admit people who can’t handle coursework at a CC.
