haha funny thread

ohmygosh09: I completely agree; I wouldn’t go to Georgia Tech if I knew that I had to deal with these bozos on a daily basis. Connect with Tech proved otherwise for me. Don’t let these dorm-■■■■■■ discourage you from Georgia Tech, if you are considering attending. It’s a great place with a unique environment that is worth checking out.

IndestructibleSD: You got deferred? If they aren’t reflective of what you are capable of, then why do you have them? I am sorry, I am trying to hop on the hypocritical bandwagon that the ■■■■■■ are riding on since KNOWITALLBlTCH was my “pathetic” attempt at ■■■■■■■■. You know that me + me = still the same person. Right, IndestructibleSD? :)

Yeah, I was deferred. They don’t reflect what I’m capable of because I messed around freshman and sophomore year.

Well, I guess that both of us are hoping to hear some good news on Friday then. Despite all the bicory, I wouldn’t hope that someone would get a rejection letter. So goodluck to you, definitely post Friday’s outcome.

In the grand scheme of things, everyone is lacking something. That’s what this chance thing is all about, not discouraging people, but sharing what’s valuable to get into the respective college based on another’s experience going through its admission process. I could have a better ACT and you could have not played around as an underclassman, but I think we will get in Friday :).

Guys, please put all the bickering aside. I am an incoming Freshman from OOS who doesn’t know anyone at GT. I have asked a bunch of questions to guide and help me. I have got great advice and help from the different posts. I have even connected with people for possible roommates and am attending a local meet and greet for accepted GT people. CC forums have provided me with great leads which I appreciate. We are here to help and not demean people.

Yeah, I’ll let you know what happens. It won’t be the end of the world if I don’t get in since I’m 5 for 5 on my other schools, but it’d still be really nice to have the option to go.

Good Luck!

nerdwantgum: Agree, I generally love this website for the same reason. What major are you?

IndestructibleSD: Same here, not to be snobby, but GT doesn’t have the world’s greatest architecture program for what I specifically want to specialize. What major are you planning on pursuing? What schools did you get accepted?

I got accepted to Cal Poly SLO, U of I Urbana-Champaign, Texas-Austin, and Clemson so far.

I am going in with a Chem. Engineering major. I have been already been accepted to Texas Tech, Univ. of Houston, Texas A&M, U of Florida- Gainesville, U of I Urbana-Champaign, U of Mich. Ann Arbor, UT-Austin, Purdue and GT. Still waiting on some others.

IndestructibleSD, Congrats! You got into some great schools.

Best wishes to both of you.

I applied to Aerospace Engineering, but I’m leaning more towards Computer Science. The AP Computer Science class I’m taking this year has been really fun.

As for schools I’ve been accepted to, I’ve been accepted to University of Maryland, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, WPI, and RPI. I’m still waiting on Georgia Tech and Boston University.

artek1993

Are you the one who got into the schools listed? I thought it was IndestructibleSD. Congratulations! These are some good schools.

Congratulations to you. What are WPI and RPI? What is your first preference?

WPI = Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worchester MA (40 miles west of Boston)
RPI = Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY (basically Albany)

Nerdwantgum: I did, and thank you. It’s going to be a tough decision once I hear back from VT and GT.
