is it as bad / crowded as rumored? And is it possible to request out and get a double?

depends on the school. my first year i had a triple. i ended up getting a double then next year with one of the guys in that triple. the triple worked out i'd say.

My triple was pretty big. We all had plenty of space and since we got along well, it was a lot of fun. Some people have bad experiences with it, but I'm glad I was in a triple my freshman year.

I had a triple freshman year and it was good. Bigger than the doubles and we all had plenty of space to do our own thing.

Some schools are overcrowded though and force triples into rooms designed to be doubles, that's where you could run into trouble.

As long as the room is physically larger than the doubles (by a fairly significant amount), it seems like it could be fun. But I can't even imagine trying to fit three people into a physical double room!

D: but what if its a double room with a bunk bed on one end xx; am i likely to run into trouble with space issues >> because I think I have space issues and if everyone has space issues then that will not be good.

Actually I think the answer is probably yes -_- but are there a lot of people out there who have had a triple in a double room who thought it was a good experience? And if not then how did you switch out D: or knuckle through?

i'm also considering getting a triple. however i'm kinda scared because of my brother's experience with it. the 2 other people in his triple were good friends from HS who requested a double. but because of space issues, my brother got thrown in with them. needless to say, they were pretty ticked off. so his year was basically hell. so there's the risk of the 2 other people turning against you...
but yeah, i think there's a lot of advantages to the triple still.

Well don't forget, your room's just the place where you sleep-nobody said you had to "live" there

But it's nice to have a place to retreat from the world. You're paying for it!

Bunk beds would work in terms of sleeping arrangements, but would there to enough room for three desks, storage for three people's stuff, and space to maneuver in?

I'd be wary of triples. There are disadvantages to having just 1 roommate that double when you have 2. You'll want to be able to be alone sometimes. Also...sexiling 2 people just doesn't work that well.

^ truth.

something about threes doesn't usually work that well ... i've preferred doubles, quads, and singles to triples, both in college and in camps.
