Getting associates before transferring or not?

Does getting your associates degree help at all when applying to transfer from a CC to a decent school? I don't mean necessarily to my big state flagships..i'm looking to apply to some reaches for me, like Vtech, Cornell, NU and other good engineering schools in that league but not the very top schools. None of these schools are considered in state for me if that matters.

Secondly, are schools more likely to transfer more if your credits if you have them bundled in an associates versus coming in with a random amount of credits?

Thanks

Check the college websites, unless they explicitly state that an AA gives a special status for transfer admissions (this is mostly the case with IS publics), then it will be the number of credits and grades that will matter, not the AA.

Colleges will evaluate each class and determine whether or not to give you credit, the AA won’t make a difference.
