Getting Blood Type prior to R Day

On the vaccination info send to myself, it asks for Blood Type....Is it necessary to have our Blood Typed prior to heading to WestPoint, or will they do this during vaccination time??????

Ask your biology teacher if he has the equipment. I don't think it has to be doctor certified, and our teacher "typed" the whole class during a demonstration. It's a fairly simple procedure.

probably on your birth certificate, but don't worry about it because they probably got it sometime during DODMERB physical.

Try to get your vaccinations in BEFORE R-day. Getting stuck sometimes makes me sick to my stomach...something about the vaccine compounds doesn't agree with me. Also, sore arms + pushups = unhappy New Cadet.

If you want, you can go to a local blood donor center. Donate some blood and ask for a blood typing card.

The way I did it was that I had my doctor check it when they verified when they preformed the titer for chicken pox.

if you've ever donated blood call up the nearest blood donation center and they should have your name/ssn/birthday on file. they'll ask you some questions and you'll have your blood type!
