I was wondering if you do an earlier orientation does it give you a better shot of getting your classes rather than doing a later orientation? Is it first come first serve or do they set classes all at once?

first come first serve. earlier orientation = more classes available = better chance you can get your top choices.

supposedly they hold some spaces open for students at later orientations so that everything isn't closed out, but I think earlier is better.

the orientation web page says "While attending an earlier session means a wider choice of available courses, you may find that choosing a later Orientation session is more appropriate. Choosing a later Orientation session is beneficial if you are waiting for Advanced Placement test scores, final transcripts, or results from any outstanding work. If you come to an earlier session and these records are not available, you may need to make adjustments to your schedule after Orientation. "

regarding that post above, i believe your AP scores aren't sent to you yet when the first and second orientations go on, although they might be sent to ucla, not sure.
