Getting from Brown to Yale

My son would like to attend admitted student days at Brown (April 11 & 12) and then Yale (April 13 & 14). Any advice on getting from one campus to another? He will also need somewhere to stay the night of the 12th. He’s 17 and traveling by himself. I’m posting in both Brown and Yale forums. Any advice appreciated!

Train: You can walk to the Amtrak station in Providence from Brown, and you can walk to Yale from the Amtrak station in New Haven (or take a cab, and maybe they have shuttles). So it’s really no problem to take Amtrak. It’s about a 2 hour ride, or less, and there are at least 7-8 trains a day, more if you include the much more expensive, somewhat faster Acela trains.

I’m sure there’s a way to do it by Greyhound or Peter Pan bus service, but I know from experience that busing into or out of Providence is something of a pain in the butt. Still, it’s an OK option, and probably cheaper (but more time-consuming). The place where you pick up a shuttle to take you out to the real bus depot is a couple blocks closer to Brown than the train station.

Perfect! Thanks much.
