getting home?

My D is interested in Cornell. We're from the Phila area and as a parent I'm a it concerned about how she will get home on holidays. It seems like the only way home is by car as there is no train. She won't have a car and with all the new yourkers won;t it be impossible to find a ride? Thanks

http://www.coachusa.com/shortline/ should help.

http://www.bus.cbtcorp.net/

This is what I use--EXTREMELY convenient. It takes you right from campus to three locations in the Philly area (and vice versa).

Another option, though a bit circuitous, is taking a Shortline bus into NYC and taking a train from the city to Philly...I'm sure there's a more direct route, however.

Thanks for the link. Guess that fear is gone! Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the large # of New Yorkers or are you happy at Cornell?

Cornell has people from all 50 states and most industrial nations. I wouldn't worry about all the new yorkers. I say that being a Cornell graduate originally from new york ;-). But I can say that in my classes there were more out of country folks that new yorkers. Cornell has a lot of everyone, and your daughter will be able to find whatever group she wants to spend time with.

Do you know of a similar service for cities in northern New Jersey?

http://www.coachusa.com/shortline/ looks good, but the closest city to my hometown is 40 minutes away (Ridgewood, NJ)

Bump (is this legal? haha)
