Getting In and Questions.

I'm hoping to get into either VPA or Speech Pathology program.

GPA: 3.3 - 3.7 (I'm sure it's around 3.3 to 3.5 though)
SAT: 1700 (with writing) 1130 (without writing)
ACT: 26
Extracurriculars: French Club (Treasurer first year and Vice President First Year), Thespian Society (Member and now, Historian), National French Honor Society, National Beta Club (Service Club), Yearbook, etc.

I want to know if I have a chance at getting in and any constructive feedback that maybe I could put into use at the beginning of my senior year. Thanks. I am really hoping to apply. Thanks.

elbie,

VPA looks very heavily at the whole person. They really look at your portfolio, accomplishments, teacher rec's, community service, passion and creativity. If they see potential, you have a good shot. Be sure to go on an interview and bring your portfolio in if you can.

My daughter had similar stats and got into VPA. She had excellent recs and a good resume of related 'arts' experiences and accomplishments (in both performing and visual, although she was applynig for visual). She had a portfolio review at NPD and seemed to hit it off with the rep. After that admissions mailed her a letter saying they'd like her to apply. She had an 'official' portfolio review with a local rep after she sent in her application.

She never toured the school, but did go to an offsite presentation closer to home.
