hi guys...i'm looking to transfer next year...and i heard that getting into JHU as an economics major would be easy....well i wouldn't really say it's easy, but i heard that it is relatively less of a struggle than getting in as a premed...is this true? what should i do to increase my chances of getting in (besides scores of course)

Perhaps it is different for transfers (I don’t know), but for freshman admission your anticipated major doesn’t really matter except for BME (which has a separate admission by the department). Students are accepted to the University as a whole (undergraduate only, of course) so major really can’t make a difference or it would be easy to game the system. It isn’t.

Transfer admissions are more difficult than freshmen admissions–often @5% (compared to 20% for next year’s freshman class). Its largely dependent upon freshman retention, which is usually pretty high.

Transfering to Hopkins is nearly impossible.
