Looks good to me...

Did you take the PSAT?

Yes... I did take the PSAT, but our counselor (whom is at lunch from 8:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), has not given us our scores back... not only this, but we, as juniors, do NOT know either our rankings or GPA's... Don't you just love her ;)... well, the only score i can give is the ACT Explore... took it in 6th grade and got a 17..

Hard to give you an accurate assessment without rank and scores.

It looks like you will have only taken 5 APs by graduation...is that the most rigorous courseload possible?

yup.. it's sad to say, but I have been trying to take the hardest classes my school has to offer, and I cannot do any better than with what I have... I notice other ppl posting european history, german, etc... But with my school being as little as it is, we aren't given those courses... that's why i chose to take college classes with UTPA... taking Political Science... my first B! since 6th grade.. and Music Appreciation.. prob. gonna get an A...;)... but i'm tryin'

You're on target, I would assume you rank at the top of your class but it would be nice to know for sure. Keep prepping for the ACT, try to shoot for a 30+ and you'll be golden. Retake twice if you have to.

Which college at Cornell do you intend to apply to? There are 7...Do you plan on doing Early Decision?

Looks fine. Mexican background will help, don't let anyone b.s. you into thinking it won't. Get a 1480 or a 1500 and you're set.

i got in with four ap's, a 1410, and decent ec's. my school's wicked tiny, too, and apparently we don't rank "as a policy" (my guidance counselor is just as awesome as yours sounds). seriously, you seem like a really good student, so getting a good score on the act shouldn't be that hard. they understand if your school doesn't offer many ap's (mine only offers like 6 by the time you graduate). get decent recs, write a good essay and i think you'll def get in. don't stress!=)

thanx sweet_child... It's nice to know, that our guidance counselor isn't the only one like that! ;)... umm.. I'll try not to stress! ;)THANX
