Getting in from the Waitlist

I'm currently waitlisted for Econ 1. However, i got into the section, but i'm still in position 19 for the lecture. Does getting into a section guarantee a spot in the class? or i need to get into the lecture too?

I’m 35 for ESPM and I’m in a section too.

getting into section guarantees that you are in the class i believe. you should be good to go.

I’ve been #1 on the waitlist for an econ 100a section for like 6 weeks. #2 on the waitlist for the class. Whats the probability i don’t get in? -____-

ok… could someone pls answer my question

How can you be signed up for the section but be waitlisted for the lecture?

Usually if you sign up for a lecture that is already full, you’ll be told to put yourself on the waiting list for that class along with your section. Because you select your lecture before the section, I’ve seen plenty of cases where people get into the lecture but not the section they want, but I simply do not understand how the opposite is possible.

discussions have waitlists too. so you can be number 1 on the waitlist for a discussion but say, number 50 on the waitlist for lecture. if someone drops from the discussion you are waitlisted for, then you get into discussion, but you will only move up one spot on the waitlist for lecture.
