Getting in to Boston University?

Hi I’d like some advice/opinions of my likeliness of getting accepted to Boston University CAS for 2018  I’ve noticed a broad range of scores/GPAs are accepted, but sometimes seemingly Ivy League potential students are denied. My stats are:

SAT (new): 1340/1600 680 english 660 math

ACT: 29

GPA (unweighted): 97.00/100

Class Rank: 34/~740 (top 5%)

APs: language and comp (4) US history (4)

Senior year schedule: AP stats, AP calc, AP economics (macro), AP comp sci, regular level speech (1st semester), SUPA (syracuse university level) speech (2nd semester), pottery and clay

Extra Curriculars: JV cross country 2 years V cross country 1 year, Indoor track 3 years, Outdoor track 3 years, girls who code club 3 years (went to NYC GWC meeting 2 years so far), optimist club 3 years (junior class representative 2nd year, VP for my upcoming senior year), NHS, a leadership project program through my high school 3 years, Band 5th-9th grade, selective talent band 8th-9th grade

community service: a decent amount, about 50 hours

Intended Major: general mathematics

Home State: NY, central

not sure about my exact tax bracket, but my family is middle class (definitely not rich by any means)

If anyone can help give me an idea of my chances of getting in that would be awesome! i’m visiting BU this weekend and I’m so excited it has been my dream school since freshman year.

I mean just by looking at your SAT score, BU doesn’t sound unreasonable to me. But, if I were you, I would try to focus a bit more on volunteering hours. 50 hours seems too little for me but you have a great sports background. Overall, not too unreasonable:)

I guess High Match/ Low Reach. BU has gotten selective quickly so I’m not sure.

I would maybe take an extra ACT/SAT or two just to be safe. BU is getting more and more selective so any type of higher score/edge you can get is helpful
