Getting in to Columbia?

<p>So I just moved to the US from the West Indies for my junior year.. and my grades from my old school look low compared to grades here but that's because the grading system there is extremely difficult.. the work is really hard as well. Here, I didn't get to take all the AP and honors classes because my school thought I was dumb..and there's actually a lot of dumb kids in those classes who have tremendously high averages.. like 110s while my average is like 95. Next year (in my senior year) I'm supposed to be taking all hard classes though. Oh and I did a lot of extra curricular activities and voluntary service back in my country.. I really wanna go to Columbia but people at school keep telling me that I won't be able to get in.. what do you think? I got a 1950 on my SAT on the first try when I didn't even study and now I'm gonna take a course and study really hard before I take it again..</p>
