Getting in to Top-tier.

Recently my cousin told me a secret about the admissions process. Well, basically my cousins friend's dad is a admissions counselor(Gets paid suprisingly good), specifically for top-tier universities. My cousin told me that the counselor said that top-tier colleges care about merely two things. SAT's and the essay portion. My cousin is actually in Yale University right now! He told me about how the SAT's distinguish the smarts, and the essay distinguishes personality. Your wondering about GPA? Well, he told me that it extremely varies for every highschool, therefore admission officers don't weigh weight on to it during the process.

Just some genuine advice for yall overachievers. :]

Err, I call bs here. There's quite a few people who score in the 99+ percentile of the SAT - which is about 2200. And there are still more than enough people who score above that to fill many classes at these top-tiers. And essays? There are only a handful of archetypal plots of the human condition that are told over and over again. Sorry, bud, but that unique and powerful story of perseverance you got there has been told since time immemorial.

Also, I love how you cite your "cousins friend's dad".

Why would you love my citation? confused....
