Getting in touch with a prof to change a grade

One of my professors didn't weigh my final grade correctly and I emailed him to take a look at it but he hasn't replied yet. He's one of those professors that really doesn't care and I'm afraid he won't get back to my email.

Is there anything I can do? Can I get in touch with anyone (department head/registrar)??

In case he doesn't see my email until January, will he be able to change my grade then? or will it be too late at that point?

You can email an advisor or the department head (if you know who they are). Just please make sure not to attack the professor. For instance, say you are emailing because you are worried that he may be on vacation and will only be able to receive and respond to it at a later date. And don’t just say “I think he did the grade wrong”. Professors have final say on curving, weighting, etc. For all you know, he did every person in the class the same (but possibly harmful to gpas) way. So say you’re concerned about the grade and would like to go over the weighting of each component, but that you’ve been unable to contact him thusfar.

Email him a second time, as well. But don’t be pushy- he does have a life and he’s on vacation too.

But don’t give up if he doesn’t respond. My friend had a grade included in the wrong component of his weighting and it dropped his grade from an A to an A-. He emailed the professor listing off the calculations he thought to be correct, and she adjusted his grade. But do NOT attack the professor.
