Ok I know there have been a ton of threads about GPAs, and I hate to make another one, but I sort of believe this issue hasn't been addressed yet.

Everything on my app looks decent (SAT score is good-1440/1600, good essays, pretty sure that I have great reccs, and very good ECs) the works - except for my GPA (3.0 U. Michigan GPA). I have taken all AP/Honors courses, and have mostly gotten Bs.

Now not to whine or complain for my performance or anything, but those grades are better than what others would get in my school, which is a public but insanely competitive. It is not unusual for class averages to be in the low 70s for a honors level chemistry class, and even lower for the AP Chem classes. It's not that we're stupid (ok maybe just a little) but all joking aside, we get challenged pretty hardcore for sure.

There is a hefty weight to make up for this (I get 23-25 points added for AP classes, 8-10 for honors classes). This won't help me for U. Michigan since they don't apparently look at weighted. I read here that they look at my course load, which is great and I hope they will give it a second look. But do I still have a chance at U. Michigan?
