Getting in

I love Brown… it is definitely my ideal school. However, I am worried about my chances. My grades are not as good as they should be, but I do feel that I would still thrive at Brown. I’m applying Early Decision, so that should help me out a little. Here are my stats: Please give me some input or suggestions.

please someone answer... I can take it.

hey dont worry about it, i have like the same SAT scores and am applying ED. just send out your app and be stressed free about it.

Your GPA is 4.34 and you're concerned about your grades?!

I guess that I'm more worried about my class rank. I go to a school where the valedictorian has a 5.5 GPA, which is a little daunting.

5.5? what is it out of?

ours is only out of a 4.0.....our valedictorian has a 4.3something and thats the highest GPA that anyone has ever had at my school...
how are ap/ib classes weighted at your school?

The regular classes are on 4.0 scale, honors are on a 5.0 scale, and AP and IB (most students take at least 10) are on a 6.0 scale.

Oh... that's unusual, then. I guess I have no way of judging what a 4.34 is, then.

6.0!!! that's soooo high.....ap/ib are 4.8 at my school and honors are 4.4......
