I’m currently a junior in high school. I plan on going to college and majoring in either business management, economics, accounting, or finance. My grades up till this year have been decent (B’s and A’s). My school is a business based schools, so they offer a variety of difficult business courses. Junior year one of the AP courses I’ve chosen to take is AP Macromicroeconomics. My teacher for that class is insane. He’s a genius and an amazing teacher, but he legit treats the class like a college class. He lectures the entire class and we’re left to take notes and study the textbook. He would take one concept and manage to come up with a test of 30+ questions on it. From what I’ve heard, macro micro isn’t supposed to be the hardest AP course out there, but particularly for my school, it is the hardest AP course, hands down.
Long story short, I, like many others before me, thought I can take the class, work hard, and pass. However, I ended with a C+ for macro, and am hanging onto a B for micro, but that can easily fall to a C. I’m going to assume the worst and say this: would I get into a decent business school with 2 C’s? I’m looking at schools like Fordham, Rutgers, Baruch, St. John, etc. east coast schools.
With that being said, I’m confident I will score a 4 or 5 on both AP exams. My teacher may hold us to college level standards, but he is still a good teacher regardless. According to seniors who’ve taken the courses, students generally end up with two 5’s and two C’s by the end of the year lol. I don’t want to end up with 2 C’s, but I fear the worst.
My gpa is 4.30. I’ve had past job experiences, I’m a teaching assistant, karate assistant, and I hold leadership positions in school. I volunteer at a thrift shop every week as well. I am also in NHS. Even with 2 C’s, will I get into any of the schools listed above, or schools like those?
