Getting into a csu or ??

MY SAT scores as a junior was this

Critical reading:420
Math:240(i didnt take geometry yet)
Writing:420

GPA:2.67
Can i get into a csu with this. If not what other UNIVERSITY can i get into?

Those scores are depressingly low. you should retake them. I don’t think even the CSUs will take you.

Well actually not “DEPRESSINGLY” low buddy im only a junior and never took geometry…didnt study for the SAT and was the first time i took it…so if you have no knowledge about it just shut up and go do what you were doing before you decided to post a gay comment

Anyone else…

FWIW, my son scored about 550 each section about 2 mos into geometry on PSAT’s as a sophomore this year. As of this moment, his GPA is a 3.29857… highest its ever been. I am hoping that will get him into some mid level CSU’s, and based on their eligibility index, it could work, except for the fact that kids in the area with lower scores get priority. What school are you near? Check the site for their point requirements.

“Many CSU campuses utilize local admission guarantee policies for students who graduate or transfer from high schools and community colleges that are historically served by a CSU campus in that region.”

"The grades you earn in high school are the most important factor in CSU admission decisions. Your high school grade point average is calculated using your grades in all your college prep a-g classes completed after the 9th grade.

Test scores are required unless you have a grade point average above 3.0 and are a resident of California. The CSU uses a calculation called an eligibility index that combines your high school grade point average with the score you earn on either the SAT or ACT tests. Even if you have a GPA above 3.0, it is useful to take either an SAT or ACT as the score may indicate if you do not need to take English and math placement tests after you are admitted and before you enroll at the CSU. The eligibility index for out-of-state students is higher and admission requirements for international students are somewhat different.

If you have your high school GPA and the results of your SAT or ACT test, then you can calculate your eligibility index. From there you can quickly see whether you meet the minimum admission standards. Remember, some campuses have higher standards for particular majors or those students who live outside the local campus area."

Once you calculate your grade point average, you can use this formula to see if your grade point average and test scores meet the minimum required eligibility index.

* California residents must (California high school graduate or a resident of California for tuition purposes) have a minimum eligibility index of 2900 using SAT scores or 694 using ACT scores. (The SAT score component for CSU is the sum of the mathematics and critical reading scores. Neither ACT nor SAT writing scores are included in the calculation of the CSU Eligibility Index.)

 • California nonresidents or nongraduates of California high schools must have a minimum eligibility index of 3502 using SAT scores or 842 using ACT scores.

uhh 240 is low, sorry to break it to you.

No really, you shouldnt even be thinking about a university or even community college, you should worrying about being held back a grade. I would be embarrased going to a college with someone with your scores, Im sorry to say that.

^^^lmao obviously they have no life and know knowledge about anything that we are discussing because the information shrinkwrap gave me tells me otherwise…

Like seriously if all you guys have to do all day is go on forums and find entertainment by talking out of your ass then hey…more power to you.

But thank you other people who gave me positive feedback…

Hey Chris Swayze,
You still have a shot getting into CSU.
All you need is to retake your SATs to get better scores. Don’t worry too much about your gpa because it’s acceptable.
If you want, you can spend 2 years at community colleges then transfer to CSUs or UCs.

240?! Isn’t that in the negative range of scoring? :o

btw, if you’re a freshman, you still have time.

if you’re a sophomore, better work extremely hard (raise your gpa to above 3.0, SAT’s to at least 550…) in your junior year.

if you’re a junior, well… i’m sorry dave. :</p>

Chris you are the generic too cool for school/i can make fun of others because im cool type of person.

240? You basically got like 5 questions right on the math portion.

Don’t go asking for help if you are going to end up insulting everyone.

Oh LOL and also your index is lower than the minimum by 200 or so points :X

what does not taking geometry have to do with it. in 8th grade having taken algebra I i got a 670. I hate your attitude. Other posters are just telling you their view of it, and here you are burning all of them. While asking for help. How ironic.
