Getting into a theatre college for performing

Hello everyone. I am currently a high school sophomore who is interested in pursuing an acting/musical theatre career (Can't decide which yet). I wanted to know what I should do to prepare myself for college auditions. Currently, I am taking voice (singing) lessons, am part of my school choir and chamber sings, and have been performing in plays and musicals for about a year and a half. I am very determined to get into a good acting/musical theatre college. Does anyone know if there's anything else that I can do that would improve my performing skills or get me ready for college auditions? My grades and GPA are really good, so I'm not worried about that part of getting accepted.

Yoshi - Here is a really great thread to get you started:

There is so much good information here. Read a lot and then jump in with your questions!

It sounds like you have a great start. Keep up the good work!

Austinmtmom is right - that is the place to start. There is a whole sub-forum for musical theater majors, and it has everything you could ever want to know about MT and more! As this is such a specialty major, this is a very good time for you to start looking at the options for programs, and the audition requirements.
