Alright so i'm currently 21 years old and have never been to community college. I had to drop High School due to medical issues but immediately followed up by getting my GED. Now my plan is to finally move on with my life and head to a University. My GED score was really good, but I honestly don't think that means much to them as they want something for me to show for myself other than that. Let's say I was to study for a few months or so to earn a respectable grade on my SAT. Also I realize i'd have to write a letter about why I dropped out of High School and how i'm improving myself, etc. Would any State University accept me? Specifically University of College Park Maryland? I feel that i'm equipped and disciplined enough to deal with a University as of now.

Yes, they would. Call or E-Mail their admissions office and they can probably help you get all the paperwork together.
