Hi, I’m a Latina HS senior, and I really, really, REALLY want to go to Barnard. I go to a VERY competitive school, but I think I have a shot at getting in (hopefully-- you tell me). I have an A- gpa, a 2200 SAT, great recs, and GREAT essays-- but I’m still terrified I won’t get in. My ECs include: founder and co-president of my school’s Mental Health Association, Lead Volunteer of the Cardiology Dept at a very well-known hospital for three years, Section Editor of the Yearbook, Research Assistant/Leading Volunteer at another hospital for the summer, author of my own research paper regarding the resilience levels of underprivileged Latino youth, volunteer at ANOTHER hospital, and a member of the Speech and Debate Team for three years. I’m a National Hispanic Merit Honors Scholar, I’ve won plenty of hospital awards, and the yearbook I helped write last year won a bunch of gold medals as well. I took semi-challenging courses, with lots of electives and APs (nine in total, but a lot in senior year). So-- do you think I’ll get in? HELP!
I think you are in great shape. The 75% SAT score is 2180 so you are above that, plus you have good grades and ECs. Good luck!
Thank you SO much! This really helped calm me down a little bit-- hopefully everything works out!
