Hi! This is my first time on here but, now that my junior year is over, I am extremely stressed about college. My dream school is Boston University and, as you may know, it is pretty selective.
I just finished junior year. This year I took AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Geography, art honors, physics honors, AP US History, and AP Literature. I received a D in AP Statistics so I am going to retake it online for grade forgiveness so assume I have an A. B in Psych, A in Geography, A in art, C in physics (trying to get a B somehow), C in APUSH, and C in AP Lit. I also took chemistry and pre calculus online and got A’s in both. Last year, I took Spanish 2, Ceramics/Pottery, AP Lang, Biology Honors, Psych 1/2, Geometry and Algebra 2. I got a B in Spanish, an A in ceramics, a B in AP Lang, a C in biology, a B in psych 1/2, a C in geometry and a B in algebra 2. I have about a 3.22 GPA with all of this.
I am worried that my C’s will bring me down because I am sure they look at grades versus just GPA. I am planing on taking 4 additional AP courses online as a way to help my GPA up to a 3.5. Note that this GPA is NOT weighted. I took the SAT but did not score well and will be taking the ACT. I am aiming for around a 32. I am also taking SAT II’s (math 1 and us history).
I am planning on applying to Boston University for Early Decision 1 (by November 1) which will hopefully help my chances.
I am in Interact Club, National Art Honor Society, Sports writer for local newspaper, Fight Against Hunger Club, Arts in Motion Club, PTSO Student Council, One World, and Junior Ladies (I may be missing something). I have volunteered at the Cultural Center summer camps which helps students with arts and crafts. I did a Law program at Yale last summer and I have extremely good recommendation letters.
My essay will also be pretty good so that should not be a problem.
If you have any suggestions or tips or encouraging feedback (honest feedback would be best), I would greatly greatly appreciate it!
Thank you!
