What are my chances of getting into schools like Clemson and Syracuse with these stats? I’m a junior in high school with a 3.75 weighted GPA and a perfect SAT score (1600). I have taken all honors classes throughout highschool and when I’m done with my senior year I will have 3 AP classes completed. My GPA suffered because I had a lot of family drama until my junior year. I will also have 6 college classes completed by the end of my senior year and I’ll be a certified EMT. For extracurriculars I’ve been in student government, involved in drama, speech team, and national honors society. I volunteer at various places, along with 200 hours of volunteering at the hospital. I plan on playing tennis this year also. I want to go to law school but I’m not sure I’m going to major in yet. Would it be possible for me to get into schools like Colgate, BU, or Hamilton? Should I even apply to those schools?
@Tori999 as you no doubt know the 1600 is an incredible score and puts you in play for tons of great schools including Clemson. IMHO the most important thing you can do,in your Jr. year and the beginning of your senior year is to show schools that the real you is a the top 99.7% student who gets a 1600 as opposed to a student who gets a 3.75. Do your best to get grades up. Clemson weighs class rank very highly so if that is a school you really want even with you your 1600 you need to get in top 10% and then lots of merit money is in play
