<p>If student X were to get into, say, Stanford SCEA, and then he/she were to apply to Yale, etc. in the regular decision round, would getting into Stanford be considered an academic honor and could thus be put in that section on the app? Would it have an effect?</p>

<p>No, if anything it would hurt him because SCEA implies that Stanford is his first choice. Yale is very competitive and doesn't like being considered 2nd to anyone. Best not to showcase being accepted SCEA at Stanford.</p>

<p>Sure but that Yale adcom would really need to be convinced that the applicant is seriously considering them. Otherwise it would be REAL easy to just pass them over since their Stanford intentions are fairly clearly stated. Keep your cards close to your chest.</p>
<p>Well, not really, but they've all become obsessed with raising "yield" for those stupid U.S. News rankings, so they might not take you if they think you won't go.</p>
