Getting into computer science?

I'm currently in the AP Computer Science A course at my school and I really like it and I'm looking into it to see if I want to major in it. My sophomore GPA isn't terrible but it's in the low 3s with my cumulative at a 3.5. I'm a junior and my first marking period GPA (block scheduling so this is halfway through the courses) was a 4.15 weighted on a 5.0 scale.

My SAT score I just got back (first one I've taken) was:
CR - 540
M - 650
W - 560
1750

I'm looking at colleges like UMD College park and University of Illinois at UC. I know they're competitive and I'm working to improve my sat score especially my math. Would improving my sat math to the mid to high 700s make these schools doable?

Do you know how to look up the averages yourself? Use the source Common Data Set for the college or use an aggregation like collegedata.com

Be aware that OOS students may be limited or have higher requirements than instate for state colleges. CS in the Engineering department may have higher requirements that the published averages for the whole college.

Mid 25 - 75%
UMD-CP
Math 610 - 720
CR 580 - 690
78% had gpa of 3.75 and above, this seems weighted as avg is listed at 4.07

UIUC
Math 680 - 790
CR 550 - 680
88% were in the top quarter of their class
