Getting into Cornell as a transfer from my CC?

So my CC works great with Cornell, I want to have a major in Computer Science. I have a 3.75 GPA and a 1410 SAT Score. I have done volunteer work at a homeless shelter for the church. I work since my senior year of high school, at the same job. In high school, I have played AAU basketball in HS. I am a administrator for a computer website (Stack Overflow; its where we help people with programming problems and try to give them solutions. A lot of languages are acceptable such as Java, C++, Python, etc.) I don’t want to waste my money if I can, but I really wanna know if I actually have a shot to get in? I know Cornell is a Ivy, and it’s selective, but I know it has one of the highest transfer rates because at least one or two students get into Cornell from my CC. I remember one kid got into Cornell from my HS class, and I did way better in HS than he did grade wise, and I never took an AP or Honors course. Please chance me!

You have to be careful on this. Some of the colleges will accept from CC and one or two does not. I would suggest calling the school you are interested in to get further clarification and specifics stats on admissions from CC
Good luck

Having recently done this myself, I think you have a solid chance. If you’re coming from a NYS CC, your chances will be greater. If not, you still may stand a solid chance but I do know that NYS CC’s are favored more in the admissions process. Apply to CALS. Do not apply to CAS, you likely will not get in. CALS has a major called Information Science, which is the closet to computer science that CALS offers. There are certain requirements that you have to fulfill to be considered and you won’t need to submit your SAT score. Your gpa is good, but don’t let it fall below that. Also, admissions won’t admit you if they think you won’t be a good fit for the major, so make sure you have EC’s relevant to the major and write about the major in your essays. Good luck and it is definitely worth applying!
