Hi. I am currently waitlisted for CS61A since I signed up for the class during phase II (I never thought the class would fill up that fast). I am however number 264 on the waitlist of a class that has 805 seats. Do I have any chance of getting into the class? I heard that for lower division EECS classes, most people do get into the class from drop outs and possibly opening up a new section, but how accurate is that? I am a 2nd year L&S undeclared student thinking about possibly majoring in CS so it would be awesome if I could actually get into the class.

i was position 150 last week and a couple days ago i got admited into teh class so im so happy btw i heard that 15% of teh class usualy drops but ur 264 and its kinda far off im so sorry but i dont think u’ll get in find another major… hav u taken cs10

With that many on the waitlist, they might expand the class or add a section. If they don’t add seats, your chances aren’t good… just wait it out and hope for the best.
