Getting into Emory

I would love to go Emory for pre-law and business but my High School GPA and my ACT and SAT scores are not all that great. My High School GPA is a 3.5 and I am little to embarrassed to even bring up my test scores. Though, my scores are low I do have a lot of dual enrollment credits 36, and I have spent more than 24 hours on campus taking 12 classes. My college transcript says I have a 3.6 GPA. I am also in one club at my school due to the fact that I have a job. The club is basically community service. What are my chances of getting into Emory undergrad school?

Is that your weighted or unweighted GPA?

@Justinpowel51
How are we supposed to chance you without stats? Do you have any hooks like URM, athlete, etc. ? What is you family income? Where are you from?
You missing too much info!

Unweighted the school has not put in the classes I took over the summer.

SAT 950 ACT 19, I use to play Football, Wrestling, Lacrosse then I got into a car accident. I do not know my family income and I am from Georgia.

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those scores will preclude you from getting into Emory. Do you have any other schools on your list?

@Justinpowel51
So you know that those scores are low, however it doesn’t hurt to try, especially when there is an application fee waiver. I would retake, apply ED1 or ED2, apply to both Emory and Oxford, visit campus multiple times make sure admin officers know your name and face, finally write the best essay of you life. You should really give it a shot in my opinion.

@Justinpowel51

Did you prepare for the SAT/ACT before taking them? IF not, you can probably raise those scores substantially by preparing for and retaking them. You will help your admissions chances at Emory and elsewhere considerably by getting higher scores.
