getting into Georgia Tech

Is Georgia Tech harder to get in than Emory? Also is it easier to get in to Georgia Tech if u are applying as an undergrad or a graduate ? Thanks for everyone's answers in advance

In general, Emory is more selective. Undergraduate and graduate admissions use different factors for admissions so any direct and pertinent comparisons are not possible. Graduate admissions also vary by department, so the difficulty of getting into GT grad school could vary considerably between department and application year. I suggest you look at the application process one step at a time; if you are a undergraduate applicant the difficulty of getting into grad school at the same university is irrelevant and vice versa. I would also suggest you look for schools that are a fit for you rather than necessarily being more or less difficult to get into.

Emory U traditionally is more selective than Georgia Tech, but in this economic, who knows anymore. I read from ajc that Emory U had 10% fewer applicant this year. Also they have a off campus college called Oxford college that’s easier to get into.

As for Georgia Tech, due to economic, there are a lot more students applied due to GA Hope scholarship. The average SAT for fall 2008 is 1364. I image that it would get higher in the coming fall. Also, Georgia Tech admission is very much driven by the number. 2*mathSAT + verbSAT + gpa * (1000). If you meet certain numbers, you are in. If you don’t meet, you then need to meet other criteria.
