<p>Just try (that is what most of us will tell you). If you have strong extracurriculars, that will make up for your low GPA. It’s better to apply then regret x years from now. 3.5 is not too bad… you could always bring it up (2 semesters left).</p>
<p>They only care about the classes you needed for Haas. So if you took a course that is irrelevant to Haas but did poorly, that actually doesn’t matter at all.</p>
<p>Just simply do some interesting internship/activity over the summer that will help your resume and write a couple of convincing essays why you should be at Haas.</p>
<p>As mentioned above, it does depend on the combination of pre-reqs and non-pre-reqs you took this semester. That being said, (and you probably already know this,) the average GPA of Haas admits is a 3.7, so I’d set that as a target moving forward by spreading out your pre-reqs in the coming semesters. I don’t think a first semester GPA of 3.5 is sufficient reason to write off Haas altogether though.</p>
