i just finished my sophomore year of high school and am in the top 3.5% of my class. someone had told me that you have to be in a certain percent to get into mccombs. is that true? what do you have to do to get into mccombs? thank you!

Are you from TX? If so, if you’re in the top 10% (next year 8% I believe) you’re automatically admitted.

that is just for general admission not business school

Even though their website says they admit based on percentages, they don’t anymore.

For example, I was in the top 3% of my class and I didn’t get admitted.

My friend (same school) was in the top 27% of the class and got admitted.

Another friend of mine was top 8% and didn’t get admitted either.

I even called them up as I was curious and they said that they weren’t doing admittance based on rankings anymore.

If you go to a Texas school, the way admissions works is they start admitting people in the top 1%, then 2% and on until 75% of the class has been filled. They normally reach 75% at about the top 2%, so try to be within that to be safe.

thank you guys for all the info!
