<p>I am currently taking a gap year but I will have to start applying to universities soon. I want to get into McGill. </p>
<p>On McGill's website it says that I need a 5 or higher in each subject, for most courses.
It also says that I need an English A class.</p>
<p>I, unfortunately, ended up with a 4 in English A1 HL. However, the website simply stated that I need an English A class.
Had I taken, for example, English A2 SL, I would have ended up with a 7.</p>
<p>How is that fair?</p>
<p>However, I also got 110 out of 120 points on my TOEFL, when McGill only requires 90 (for the Arts department).</p>
<p>Also, my grades for English during my 2 years of IB were always ranging from 5-6, never below. </p>
<p>All my other grades are either 6's or 7's, I don't have anything else below a 6. </p>
<p>That should compensate right?</p>
<p>I got 38 IB points overall, when for the arts department only 33 are needed.</p>
<p>Do I still stand a chance?</p>
