Just got accepted into WashU yesterday (yay!) and will soon start filling in the housing selection form. I'm REALLY hoping to be placed in one of the Modern style dorms, almost purely for the semi-private bathrooms. The form asks me to rank the six options (Modern single/double/triple and Traditional single/double/triple) in my order of preference. I'll be putting the three Modern options as my top three. What are my chances of being placed in any one of these three as a freshman? I've heard that Traditional is more social, so does that mean there will be a good amount of people requesting to stay there, or will everyone be fighting tooth and nail for the Modern dorms?

Yeah. There are only three freshman traditional dorms left on campus, and the remainder are modern. Also many students actually want modern, so almost no one who puts the three traditional selections as their last three choices ever get placed in the traditional dorms.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Talons, yes, the form was in the back of the booklet as collegehappy says. IIRC the instructions said you can also do it online.

@soundwave: It just means that out of X amount of dorms (not rooms, the entire dorm), only three dorms are designated as traditional (community bathrooms, rooms closer together). The rest are modern dorms (semi-private bathrooms, more spacious).
