I was reading the Q&A on ORMS and found that they require a "3.2 GPA in Math 53 and 54, Econ 1,2, or 3, and BA 10" and it also said "We do maintain a waiting list, and admission is first-come first-served, subject to meeting the
GPA requirements."

So does that mean all I need to get in is a 3.2gpa in those 4 courses and if theres space I'm in? And if there isn't space, will they place you on the waiting list according to your gpa?

I decided not to pursue ORMS, but I’m going to answer my own questions since this is a very rare topic and I’ve learned a few things from personal experience and others going into ORMS.

Its as simple as getting a 3.2GPA from each of those classes. You will have to go on the waiting list, but all you need to do is send your email to the mailer and you’ll be added. (although for some reason when I did this I never received any notices. Make an active pursuit to be added on the list.) After that, the mailer will just send you notices (I think every semester) that spaces are open and ask if you’re ready to declare ORMS. And yes it should be first come first serve. Hope this helps

actually its not that easy. my friend just got off the waitlist for ORMS. After you get off the waitlist, the ORMS department reviews every application to the major and decides who gets admitted.

i changed my mind to computer science just cause it seems to be a more marketable degree, but orms still interests me, so i might just do information management grad school.

I just checked with my friend pursuing ORMS. JetForcegemenix is right. my bad.

and may i suggest trying/taking a look at IEOR. Its very similar, but IEOR has more lower div science reqs among the COE humanities reqs and the program is more structured. ORMS has more freedom. It might be easier to get into in some respects.

oh i see. yes cs is something else that also interests me (having recently greatly given consideration to things besides pre-med)
ORMS sounds pretty darn difficult, and it is new is it not? does anyone have information on ORMS like the info on https://career.berkeley.edu/Major/Major.stm (orms isnt listed), or can i assume its pretty similar to IEOR?
the problem with IEOR is transferring into college of engineering…
