there's a chance, but i'd get more extra currics & go ahead with your standardized testing if you're doing ACT... and studying if you're doing SAT

You're going to be pretty borderline, I know some people with higher GPAs and just as many AP's and similar ec's that got deferred to a branch campus, your best bet is to do well on your SAT or ACT.

Yea I know some ppl as well, but i know other people such as myself that got in this year! :D.... Baller. I had a 3.0 and 1700 on the SAT (1100 Cr and Math) not to mention that i was also OOS. I had however 3 letters of reccommendation, a great essay, and I graduated with almost 30 units in high school. I took like almost 10 classes a year of which 7 where hardcore academic courses. I guess it comes down to ur curriculum. However make sure u score above a 3.0. Take note this was 2 or 3 years earlier than when u will be applying. OSU is constantly getting harder and harder to get into as it is trying to get surpass their current top 50 national ranking and hopefully make it to the top 40.

thanks for the info

anyone else

ok so ohio state is kind of a long shot 30 percent chance
could i get into somehwere like arizona state or arizona

Baller. Once again... Its not a long shot. If u applied this year, ud have a 60% chance of getting in. in 2 years assuming u get a similar SAT score to myn, mayby 45-50% chance of getting in. Its a match:
Other possible school:
- Michigan State University (similar to OSU, but has more ivy covered buildings rather than state of the art facilities mixed with historic buildings. Either way both are gorgeous. Check the campus out with google earth.)
60% chance.
- Indiana University: probably the prettiest campuses of the Big ten. Gorgeous campus surrounded by dense woods and lovely college town.
75%-80% chance.
- Arizona: 90% chance. would not reccommend it unless u like living in the desert :D.... easy to get in.
- Arizona State: 100% chance considering u apply early. i dotn reccommend it for same reasons in addition to the fact that ASU is worst than Arizona.
- U Mass: in amherst, Ma. lovely college town. Big school and good academics from what i understand. 75%-80% chance of getting in.

thanks a lot

but.. i no how they all love class rank and my school is pretty good and the average grade for my class is like an 86 or 87 if i had an 82 or 83 average (3.1)
that wouldnt be in the top 50 percen

still matter??

plus i want hot weather im from ny way to cold for me

:O... then why are u looking at OSU?? Well, ok in that case, yes get ur class rank up cause in the lower half aint good at all... that could hurt ur chances significantly. OSU is recieving a ton of kids in Top 10 percent and its of no surprise to me that the majority will soon be. however if u make it to the top third then u have a better chance.
If u want warm tropical weather, OSU is like New York, not warm. But on the other hand, gorgeous campus and great social scene.
In that case:
mayby Texas A&M, similar to Ohio State but warmer weather, although IMO campus is not as nice. Lousiana State is warm weather and nice. University of South Carolina is another potential option. University of Tennessee.

GET UR CLASS RANK UP. if ur in the lower half, i can assure u, it will not sit well in the Major Public University

how...and yea even if some other guy has an 80 average in top 50 and i have 82 average not in top 50 it matters??

i have a really smart grade soo.. its kinda hard. so im screwed

Well it depends. Ohio State looks at class rank if reported. if the school dosnt report it then just gpa. generally if clss rank is reported, thats what they look at. Ur just a sophmore, u can still improve. Id worry of working ur hardest and then when ur a senior, reevaluate ur chances. with a 2.8 its hard to get into many top public schools. with a 3.0 u have a lot better chances. if u increase ur class rank, then u definately increase ur chances.

I think that a great ACT or SAT score can definitely override a less-than-stellar GPA, to get you into the Columbus OSU campus.

Go Blue! Hail To The Victors!

..sorry. had to do it.
