Greetings community,
I need some help, I’m looking to gain admissions into a PsyD program that is likely to look past my criminal history. The ideal program would be anywhere in the state of California as once I graduate I am confident that my attorney can navigate the state licencing issue. My felony is for a white collar related crime as a result of a failed business venture. I have no history of violence or identity theft or anything like that. I have 270 undergraduate credits and will graduate this june, my GPA is 3.16 overall. I have a minor in psychology I have so many credits because I decided to abandon my attempts to become an attorney after releasing from prison. I have some limited experience in mental health mostly in addiction counseling. I decided to post my situation here because the entire application process is exhaustive due to application fees and asking people for multiple letters of recommendations. So far I have applied and been denied at Argosy Bay Area campus. I am considering applying for Alliant international Bay Area. I’m looking for more possibilities, in the back of my mind a part of me is thinking that any PsyD in the bay area is just too competitive and thus I may be more successful in applying in areas within the state less desirable to live. Please advise
